Don't Fall for the Feel-Good Fakes
Have you ever heard the adage, "If it looks too good to be true, it probably is"? The Bible states this another way: "There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death" (Proverbs 14:12). In today's blog, Gabby Terry addresses some of the cultural "elephants in the room" that are being used (effectively, I might add) to draw us away from the light of truth. Please read with discernment and test your own influences against the truth of God's Word.

Have you noticed, like me, that the line between science, spirituality, and self-help is getting seriously blurred? Scroll through TikTok, and you’ll find influencers talking about “manifestation,” “vibrational alignment,” or even using AI to find your purpose in life. It all sounds deep, and maybe even a little biblical at times, which can draw the naïve Christian down a dangerous slippery slope. But here’s the question we need to ask:
Is it true? Or is it just a clever counterfeit that pulls us away from the real thing?
These days, the most dangerous lies come dressed up as enlightenment. Terms like “energy,” “resonance,” or “nonlocality” get borrowed from quantum physics and twisted into "proof" of universal consciousness or divine selfhood. But God never told us to look to vibrations for peace. Jesus said, "Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28).
Contrary to how they’re “advertised,” practices like Reiki, chakra balancing, and crystal healing are not neutral wellness hacks. They shift your trust away from the Creator and onto created things. The Bible makes it clear: “Even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light” (2 Corinthians 11:14). Just because something feels calming or sounds "spiritual" doesn’t mean it’s from God.
Manifestation tells you that with the right mindset, you can attract love, wealth, or success. Sounds empowering, right? But it flips the script: You become the provider instead of trusting God to provide.
James 1:17 reminds us, “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights.” We’re not the source of goodness―God is. The promise of becoming your own savior isn’t empowerment; it’s deception.
“Energy healing” claims to restore you by tapping into invisible forces. But here’s the problem: It tries to offer healing while leaving out the Healer.
1 Peter 2:24 says, "By his wounds you have been healed." That’s not just poetic―it’s spiritual reality. Jesus didn’t just offer us "good vibes"- He gave us His life.
AI is an amazing tool, but let’s not pretend it’s God. People now turn to chatbots and algorithms for therapy, decision-making, and even spiritual direction. That’s not just unhealthy. That’s idolatry.
Psalm 115:4-8 paints the picture clearly: "Their idols are silver and gold, the work of human hands... those who make them become like them; so do all who trust in them."
The moment we look to technology to give us wisdom, peace, or purpose instead of going to God, we’re in dangerous territory.
Quantum mechanics is fascinating, no doubt. But it’s not proof of some mystical universe we can manipulate. It’s more like a fingerprint―a sign that the universe is held together by a God who is beyond our understanding and fully in control.
Colossians 1:16-17 says, “By him all things were created... and in him all things hold together.” Not by energy. Not by algorithms. By Jesus.
Our culture today is obsessed with wellness, vibes, and self-discovery, but none of that can give you what your soul actually needs. Real healing? It comes from Jesus. Real peace? It’s a fruit of the Holy Spirit. Real truth? It’s found in the Word of God.
So here’s the challenge:
- Test everything against Scripture (1 John 4:1).
- Stop settling for feel-good fakes.
- Cling to Jesus―the Light of the World who doesn’t change with trends.
As He said in John 8:12,"I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness but will have the light of life."
- Don’t chase the vibe. Follow the Light.
