- Wade Wacker
Wade Wacker is a founding board member and the chief executive officer of Reasons for Hope. With a degree in financial planning, more than 23 years experience, and as the owner of a successful financial practice, Wade uses his business experience, along with a heart devoted to serving the Lord Jesus Christ, to guide and direct Reasons for Hope. Wade’s love for the Lord and commitment to growing and strengthening the body of Christ, led him to begin serving Reasons for Hope in a full time capacity in January 2012. Prior to Wade’s work in the financial industry, He was a minor league ball player for the Minnesota Twins. With two sons and a daughter, Wade enjoys coaching and mentoring their sports teams. Wade and his wife Stacey, and their children, Joshua, Shadrach and Lacey live in Jackson, MN.
- Carl Kerby
Carl Kerby is a founding board member of Reasons for Hope, as well as an inspiring, motivating, and highly respected Christian speaker. With more than 20 years of ministry experience, Carl shares his extensive knowledge and understanding of God’s creation in his talks. Providing answers for difficult questions, Carl inspires people to dig deeply into God’s Word to debunk the lies and myths that attack the Christian faith. Prior to ministry work, Carl was an air traffic controller, in the United States Air Force and for the Federal Aviation Administration. Carl and his wife Masami have two married children, Alisa (Bobby) and Carl Jr. (Tish) and three grandchildren, Trey, Naomi and Mari. Carl is the author of Remote Control: The Power of Hollywood on Today’s Culture, Absotively, Posilutely, The Best Evidence for Creation and Reasons for Hope In The Mosaic of Your Life. - Shari Abbott
Shari Abbott is communications director at Reasons for Hope. She describes herself as a disciple of Jesus Christ, a wife to Steve and a mother of two adult daughters. With a degree in psychology and business from Western Michigan University, Shari’s work experience includes bank management, sales, public relations and marketing. After many years in the gift and home decor industries, she now uses the experience and gifts that God has given her to share the good news of hope in Jesus Christ. As an avid Bible reader and teacher, she enjoys equipping and encouraging Christians to know Jesus better and to love Him more. Shari is the author of Why the Butterfly? - Candace Nordine
Candace Nordine joined Reasons for Hope when the ministry started in January 2011 as an executive assistant. Previously Candace worked with Carl Kerby at the creation science ministry Answers in Genesis. She now brings her experience and expertise in scheduling speakers and arranging speaking event details, along with her exceptional organizational skills, to the daily operations of Reasons for Hope’s speaking ministry. As the daughter of a pastor, Candace has been surrounded by ministry and ministry opportunities her entire life. She and her husband Lee, who works in full time ministry at their church, are the busy parents of three beautiful, young daughters. Candace and Lee are dedicated in raising their girls to know and love the Lord. The family lives in Hebron, KY.
- Juan Valdes
Dr. Juan Valdes is a bi-lingual speaker for Reasons for Hope (English and Spanish) and the senior pastor of a Spanish-speaking congregation in Miami, Florida. He has more than 25 years experience teaching critical thinking and philosophy to High School students, and was the Middle School and High School Chaplain at Florida Christian School as well as a Bible teacher for 14 years. Juan has done graduate work at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and holds Master’s degrees from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary and Logos Graduate School and a Doctorate Degree in Apologetics from Southern Evangelical Seminary. He has taught Theology, Bible, and Apologetics at the seminary level in both English and Spanish and speaks regularly across the country and internationally at Pastor’s Conferences, Youth Conferences, Apologetics Conferences, and local church events.
